How to Change the Default Browser in Windows 11

Changing the default browser in Windows has always been an important option for people that might use a different web browser, such as Chrome or Firefox. Unfortunately, in this stage of Windows 11, this is a bit tricky.

  1. Open the start menu by clicking on the Windows icon in the bottom left and click on “Settings”
  2. Then go to “Apps” on the left and choose “Default Apps”
  3. Then you have to scroll down until you find “Microsoft Edge” and open it
  4. Here is where it can be a bit tedious, we now need to manually change the following options to your web browser of choice, whether that might be Chrome, Firefox or any other browser you might use:
    • .htm
    • .html
    • .shtml
    • .http
    • .https
